International Network for “f-cell” Expanded Further

The organizers of “f-cell” in Stuttgart, Germany, presented the fuel cell forum in Vancouver, Canada, thus extending its range of international contacts. Well-known lecturers from e.g. Canada and Japan have been brought on board to cover interesting topics, such as the Hydrogen Highway in North America, for the 2007 “f-cell” on September 24-25. Close proximity of this year’s “f-cell” to the “Tenth Grove Fuel Cell Symposium” in London, England, may have a positive effect and bring even more international guests to both events.

Stuttgart/Vancouver (eos) – “I am impressed with the number of fuel cell projects in Canada,” reports Peter Sauber, Managing Director of the Peter Sauber Agentur Messen und Kongresse GmbH and organizer of the renowned German fuel cell forum “f-cell”, after his visit to the Canadian “Hydrogen & Fuel Cells 2007” trade show in Vancouver. “But despite the many, partly high-publicity activities, there is also a lack of the decisive stimulus to make the technology ready for marketing."
The topics hydrogen and fuel cells are, however, found on the international stage and decisions are made there. This can also be seen in the numbers in Vancouver: organizers counted 700 guests from 25 countries. The flagship of the German Fuel Cell Congress, the “f-cell” in Stuttgart, organized by the Peter Sauber Agency in cooperation with the Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH (business development for the Stuttgart region), is also presenting itself now on a more international level – such as at the Canadian "Hydrogen & Fuel Cells 2007”. The objective: “We wanted to increase our relationships in Canada specifically and in the industry around the world.” This has certainly been the case: Sauber made contact with over 50 interested parties spanning the globe. Three of them have already been convinced by the agency to speak on September 24th and 25th at the “f-cell” to be held at the Stuttgart Haus der Wirtschaft.

Speakers from Canada and Japan have already accepted
John Tak, President and CEO of the Canadian Fuel Cell Association H2FCC, will provide an overview of the North American market. Alison Setton, also from H2FCC, will report on the Hydrogen Highway currently under construction, which will stretch from Whistler (near Vancouver, host of the 2010 Winter Olympics) to San Diego, California. Sauber was also introduced in Vancouver to Akiteru Maruta, project manager at the high-tech consulting firm Technova Incorporated in Tokyo, Japan. Maruta will report on the Japanese fuel cell market in September in Stuttgart, paying particular attention to mobile applications.

Agreement with the “Tenth Grove Fuel Cell Symposium” in London
Event organizers in Stuttgart are very pleased with the planned program: “We hardly know how we are going to fit in all of these interesting talks,” says Peter Sauber. At first, he was worried as the “Tenth Grove Fuel Cell Symposium” is to be held in London by the publisher Elsevier at almost the same time – namely from September 25th to 27th. “I talked to Steve Barrett, the publisher of the magazine Elsevier Advanced Technology, and we agreed not to schedule lectures for speakers we would both like to have attend on Tuesday, the 25th.” Now it even seems that the close proximity may just provide both events with even more visitors: “Those who are coming from far away are much more likely to travel if there are two events.”
